On September 18th Protomold was named by Deloitte and Touche as the fastest growing 3 to 4 year old technology company in the state of Minnesota. The "Fast-50 Rising Star" award was based on Protomold's 730% growth in revenue over the period of 2000 through 2002, which we realize is entirely due to your support. Please accept our thanks for your business which obviously made this possible in the first place.

Although Protomold continuously works to keep our capacity ahead of demand, in recent months we have experienced a very strong increase in the need for our Rapid Injection Moulding service, to the point where we have occasionally been unable to offer our trademark "5 day" turn to our customers.

To address this unacceptable situation, we are taking a number of actions that include accelerated capital equipment purchases, workforce additions and technology developments all aimed at increasing our capacity over our August level by 50% before year end and by 100% by Q2 2004. At that point we will have over 100 employees, 20 CNC milling centers and 20 injection moulding presses available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Our goal is to never again be surprised by your need for "Real Parts. Real Fast."

The Minneapolis MD&M is the midwest's largest medical OEM event and will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center October 29th and 30th, 2003. Protomold will be in booth number 1254, so please stop by and say hello!

In prior versions of the Protomold update we have provided design tips for parts to be injection moulded. In response to the favorable response from customers we have made this a standalone email that you should receive sometime each month. We also include a designer survey based on a topic suggested by a customer.
