Protomold  Rapid Injection Moulding

Guidelines for Quick Turn Orders
Please note the following current restrictions associated with the Protomold 1, 3 or 5 business day premium quick turn services. If you feel your situation almost fits within the rules, call your salesperson (0870 723 0000) and we’ll see what we can do.

1 Business-Day Quick Turn Guidelines
1. A confirmed order must be received by 12:00 PM UK time on the day you order. See below for definition of “confirmed order.” Note: ProtoQuote® will not automatically prevent you from setting options that may disqualify you from 1 business-day service.

2. The order will ship via FedEx, DHL or UPS the next business day.

3. Side-pulls (cam actions), hot-tip gates, contoured ejectors and family moulds are not available for 1 business-day turnaround.

4. Part dimensions (after adjusting for any resin shrinkage) cannot exceed 70mm x 63mm x 25mm in X, Y, and Z respectively. The Z-dimension of 25mm is the mould-opening direction.

5. Your part complexity must be such that we can mill the moulds in the allotted time. ProtoQuote won’t allow a 1 business-day premium quick turn option if your part is too complex.

6. Your surface finish must be either F0 or F1.

7. The following resins are approved for 1 business-day turnarounds (ensures the resin is on hand and properly dried). Sorry, no colourants at this time.

a. Polylac PA717C BK Black (ABS)
b. Iupilon S3001R Clear (Polycarbonate)
c. Iupital F20-03 Natural (acetal)
d. Zytel 70G30HSL BK Black (Nylon 66 30%GF)
e. Exxon Mobil HMA016 (MFI20) Natural (HDPE)
f. PP PP7064 L1 Natural (Polypropylene)

8. Pre-approvals of Protomold-determined ejector or gate layouts occur by placing an order for 1 business-day turnaround. If gate or ejector layouts are important, they need to be agreed upon before placing the order. Contact your salesperson (0870 723 0000) for assistance.

9. Sample quantity is limited to 50 pieces.

10. In rare instances, high demand may require we turn away 1 business-day turnaround orders due to capacity. When in doubt, contact your salesperson.

What does “Confirmed Order” mean?
“Confirmed Order” means we have a PO (faxed or emailed), or a credit card number, and your ProtoQuote is finalized on line. “Finalized” means you have set the options on your ProtoQuote and have clicked the “Finalize” button.

For established customers with credit terms where we already have “bill to” and “ship to” addresses, a PO number may be sufficient to start processing your order.

For new customers not using a credit card, we recommend establishing credit prior to trying to get a quickturn order placed.
